Welcome to the Forest of Blean Website
The Forest of Blean bowls league is a bowls league for men and currently comprises bowls clubs from Ashford Town, Boughton, Canterbury, Charing, Faversham, Herne Bay and Whitstable.
Matches are played on Tuesday evenings from early May to late August on a home and away basis. Each match comprises 6 triples with one point awarded for each triple won and 2 points for winning the overall shot score.
As an offshoot, a one day event The Millennium cup was introduced in the year 2000. This is played at different member clubs greens each year on a rotational basis and on the day all the clubs play against each other on a round robin basis for the cup.
The league is affiliated to the East Kent Bowls Association and the league winners are invited to attend the East Kent finals (a one day event) held the following year.
The current holders of the league title is Herne Bay.
21/06/2010 - On Saturday the 19th June the Millennium Cup was held at Whitstable Bowling Club. The winners were Canterbury Bowling Club and runners up were Ashford Town Bowling Club.
